1. way to find it is to use Lat. and Long.
2. abs. location is a place's position on the globe.
3. geographers also use the equator & prime meridian for abs. location.
B. Relative location
1. is the place's relation compaired to the other
2. places can have many relative locations
3. those places can change over time.
II. place
A. Physical charicteristics
1. all places have unique physical charictoristics
2. they have their own landforms
B. human charictoristics
1. population
2. the language they speak
III. Regions
A. formal
1. a group of places that have somthing in common
2. it is also determined by perseption
B. functional
1. it has a central place
2. plus surrounding places effected by it
c. perceptual
1. what people think of it
2. there are places like the upper midwest that have no exact boarder
IV. Movement
A. places do not exsist in isolation
b. people fallow their movement for better life
V. human-environment interaction
A. how people use their environment
B. also how they respond to their environment
